Wellington Case Report.


MEDICAL SUMMARY:

 C.O/ 45 YEARS/ FEMALE


 

Presentation/Neurology:  The above named patient suffered SAH 6 months ago which was initially managed with external ventricular drain (EVD) and neurocritical care. Subsequently, she had the EVD converted to a shunt. Review of investigations (CT angiogram) did not reveal any culpable aneurysm.

She walked into the clinic today accompanied by her husband with no obvious neurological deficit.  But occasional fluctuation in Blood Pressure. Satisfactory higher center function. She has returned to her full premorbid activities.

As previously planned she will proceed with an internal CT angiogram today.

Neuroimaging and Diagnosis:  Brain MRI shows well situated VP Shunt.

Review of CT Angiogram 6months post SAH did not reveal any culpable aneurysm


 

Treatment and Follow up:

1.      CT Antihypertensives

2.      Counselled on good BP, sugar and cholesterol control.

3.      Counseled on weight reduction and hygiene.

4.      See in 3 months (25/07/2023)
